Digital Solution Architect

40 hours

As Digital Solution Architect at Lab Digital, you are a trusted advisor for our clients. You build long-term relationships, working with clients to translate business strategy into an effective technological approach. You’ll be involved in client initiatives, who come to us for technical direction. Therefore, the role requires a commercial awareness.

About us

Lab Digital represents 15 years of experience as a digital agency. We aim to provide consistent results and stellar quality. The team consists of about 35 specialists, all of whom contribute to technological and creative production. We approach each challenge with an unique, mature, and diverse perspective. This collaborative ethos encourages creative growth for our clients and our team. At Lab Digital we emphasise trust, artistic freedom, and personal development. We currently work with ABN AMRO, Innogy SE (RWE), Danone, Ahold Delhaize, Hanno, Heineken, Liander, Louwman, Pon, and several new startups.

About you

You have a drive to use technology elegantly, and understand the context for what is possible and what isn’t. You’re fulfilled by providing a client with a solution that fits their requests; one that can be built excellently by our development team.Clients turn to us with complex technology problems. It is our role to turn this complexity into simplicity. You’ll enjoy bringing technical material to a non-technical audience in a simple and controlled way. Through this, you are able to generate new work and answer the client’s questions in the most effective way.In addition to architecture, you also know how to develop software effectively. Ideally, you have a background as a back-end software engineer, and you manage one or more modern programming languages, such as Python, C#, Go, or JavaScript. You probably won’t be programming on a daily basis (although you may), but it is essential for you to understand the concepts. For example, we won’t need to explain what object-oriented programming is, and won’t need to show how to prevent SQL injection. You are also familiar with the software development method, Scrum. You must also see the pitfalls of this, especially in the office context. Often, customers will still want to know the costs, timelines, and exact deliverables. We need to find the right balance between capturing scope and remaining flexible. This is one of the most important parts of our approach, and you will play an important part.

We’re looking for a well-grounded person. People will look to you for technical direction, and it will be normal for you to provide guidance in “business language”, thereby helping our clients make an informed decision.
