Fire brigade South Limburg
At the Fire Brigade you encounter new challenges every day. How do you ensure that colleagues who were not there can still learn from it? That is possible with Vakmanschapp. In this app, knowledge and experience is shared, and colleagues can respond and show their appreciation.
Decentralized knowledge transfer
Most professional employees of the South Limburg Fire Brigade are stationed at fixed locations, spread across the region. In practice, volunteer firefighters are not often present there. This makes it difficult to transfer knowledge to each other. The Center for Craftsmanship was looking for a solution to contribute to the continuous development of craftsmanship of all employees.
Challenge
The ambition is sharp: to contribute to knowledge transfer, increase involvement and challenge employees to continue to develop their professional knowledge. From firefighters, support staff and volunteers. Using a methodological approach, we understood the needs of both the organization and end users and created an app that entices interaction.
Service design
Betawerk developed this app in co-creation with the Center for Craftsmanship. Together with a working group, we investigated how the app could add value to the end user. We involved all stakeholders, wrote user stories together and ranked them, in order to determine the core of the app. This resulted in a strong concept as well as broad support from stakeholders for the solution.
Social app: personal lessons
Within the app, employees tell about their experiences, such as what a firefighter saw and experienced while extinguishing a shed fire. Others can learn from this, question their colleagues and provide them with feedback. The app is also a rich source for reference works such as final reports of incidents.
Private APP
The app is exclusively intended for employees of the South Limburg Fire Brigade. Based on a link with the personnel administration of the fire service, employees automatically gain access to the app. Still curious? Then call us. We are happy to take you into the demo version.
